Benefits and Worklife

TransUnion understands that associates are our greatest assets. We offer a variety of comprehensive, competitive benefits to help associates meet their expected and unexpected needs.  Our benefits program provides choice and flexibility, and helps associates control the increasingly high cost of these benefits. TransUnion offers the following benefit options:

Health and welfare benefits

Medical - As a TransUnion associate, you'll have the option to choose the BCBS of IL Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO) or a Point of Service (POS) plan.  These plans will vary by location.

Dental - We offer three dental care plans that cover a percentage of services and surgical procedures.

Vision - With a Vision Service Plan (VSP) network doctor, you receive yearly vision exams and a choice of new frames and lenses or one pair of contact lenses.

Flexible spending accounts - TransUnion offers two flexible spending account options administered by BeniSource:

  1. Healthcare flexible spending account for eligible healthcare expenses not reimbursed by any medical, dental or vision plans held by associates or their dependents.
  2. Dependent care flexible spending account for eligible dependent expenses (such as day care).

Disability - We offer short-term and long-term disability benefits. Short- and long-term disability case management services are provided by Mutual of Omaha.

Short-term disability provides associates with benefits while ill or recovering from a non-work-related injury.

Long-term disability provides associates with monthly benefits if the associate becomes disabled and cannot work.

Long-term care insurance - TransUnion offers associates and their eligible spouses, parents and in-laws, the option to purchase long-term care insurance.

Employee assistance program (EAP) - Problems or incidents sometimes occur that may interfere with your ability to function effectively either at work or in your personal relationships. When this happens, it's important that you have a place where you can turn for help.

The EAP provides easy access to problem assessment, short-term counseling and referrals by skilled professionals.

Our EAP can assist associates with problems such as:

  • Emotional and personal conflicts
  • Depression
  • Family and relationship concerns
  • Questions about drug or alcohol use
  • Managing stress and change
  • Financial concerns, including budgeting
  • Legal concerns, including divorce or separation
  • Grief

Employee life insurance - This insurance provides financial security for an associate's family in the event of a death. Basic life insurance is a company paid benefit. Optional insurance is available for a monthly premium.

Accidental death and dismemberment - This benefit offers extra financial protection in the event of an associate's death or dismemberment resulting from an accident.  Basic AD&D is a company-paid benefit. Optional AD&D is available for a monthly premium.

Group auto and homeowners insurance - Associates with property in the United States have the option to elect group auto insurance and/or homeowners insurance through MetLife.

Fitness centers - We are pleased to offer on-site fitness centers at certain locations and access to GlobalFit discounts for associates in the United States and Puerto Rico.  GlobalFit is a nationwide network of more than 1,800 top-rated fitness centers, including Bally's Total Fitness, Gold's Gym and Ladies Workout Express.

Other benefits

Paid Time Off (PTO) - Associates accrue a predetermined number of hours for PTO each year in order to provide rest and relaxation for associates. PTO days are also meant to be used if the associate is disabled and has not met the waiting period for short term disability.

Holidays - TransUnion provides a total of 6 paid holidays during each full year of employment.

Investment Opportunities

401(k) - The TransUnion 401(k) and Savings Plan is designed to help you build financial security for your retirement years.
  • You are eligible to begin making unmatched 401(k) contributions after 60 days of employment. After six months of service, you are eligible for company discretionary and matching contributions.
  • At the end of each year, the company matches 50 cents of every dollar an associate contributes, up to six percent.

Retirement portion - An annual company contribution based on operating results and a percentage of your eligible compensation is contributed as a retirement portion.

Real estate assistance - HomeBenefits @Work gives associates many of the services necessary when planning to buy, sell, finance or move to a new home. TransUnion associates and family members can benefit from discounts and savings, along with professional home buying and selling guidance, mortgage counseling and moving planning assistance.
