Measures to protect the confidentiality of the personal credit and payment information maintained in the TransUnion database include:

• Restricting access to legitimate subscribers who have permissible purpose to obtain the information.
• Using private, dedicated lines for communication.
• Controlling database access by TransUnion associates through the use of stringent hiring criteria, secured passwords and entry codes, as well as requiring an annual recommitment to TransUnion's security policy.

TransUnion believes that any individual or company who obtains credit information under false pretenses should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
