Supplemental Recovery Score

Recover more from no-hit accounts

Some debtors have little or no credit history, but with the TransUnion Supplemental Recovery Score, you can still determine the best way to treat those accounts.

By tracking recent payment trends for similar debtors, and segmenting data by ZIP code, the Supplemental Recovery Score enables you to prioritize your no-hit accounts. Focus your resources on the most collectible debt, while spending less time pursing debtors who can't or won't pay.

No-hit prioritization by the numbers

Let's say you have a book of accounts that covers three ZIP codes. What if you could see how many no-hit debtors in each area paid at least $50?

ZIP codePaid $50+
6060651%
6062527%
606144%

The Supplemental Recovery Score looks at factors such as new-card balance, average credit limit, mortgage delinquencies and more to determine likelihood of payment in each area. Then, you decide how much time and resources to devote to each set of accounts.

  • There's a moderate likelihood of recovery from 60606
  • You're about half as likely to collect from 60625
  • You might as well apply the minimum treatment to 60614
No-hit accounts are unavoidable. When they do happen, the Supplemental Recovery Score shows you no-hit payment trends by ZIP code, so you can still set a more effective strategy for those accounts, collect more and spend less.
