Email Requirements:
To ensure receipt of vital TransUnion Direct email communications, add the below email addresses to your address book or the trusted senders list in your email program. Spam filters may route emails from new senders to a junk mail or spam folder so you may need to check these folders if you are not receiving TransUnion Direct emails.
Security Requirements:
Each user needs an individual User ID and password to access TransUnion products online. For an additional layer of security, please consult with your TransUnion sales representative about using TransUnion subscriber digital certificates.
Is it possible to submit our customers' account or payment information via this Web site?
At this time, the TransUnion Direct site is set up exclusively for requests and delivery of our credit reporting products. Please contact your TransUnion sales representative for the options available to submit your account information to TransUnion if you are not familiar with those options.
Will TransUnion Direct timeout?
TransUnion Direct will timeout after 30 minutes of non-use. If you are logged in to TransUnion Direct and do not request a report or click on a link for 25 minutes, you will receive a timeout warning. After an additional five minutes of inactivity, your connection will time out. Access to TransUnion Direct can be gained by logging in again.
How do I install TransUnion Direct digital certificates with a network configuration?
TransUnion subscriber digital certificates are workstation-based digital certificates. A digital certificate should be installed onto the browser of each workstation where access to TransUnion Direct is required. If a workstation requires a logon for normal operation (such as network use), the workstation owner/user should log on to the network before installing the digital certificate.
If the TransUnion Direct Administrator logs onto the network rather than the workstation's regular user, the digital certificate subsequently installed may be either transferred by the network to the Administrator's workstation or may simply remain on the network itself and not on the browser of the intended workstation.
Is the TransUnion Direct digital certificate associated with a workstation or a user?
The TransUnion subscriber digital certificate is a workstation-based digital certificate, but it is also tied to the user ID. By installing a digital certificate onto a workstation, the certificate is linked to that workstation and to the user ID of whom was logged into TransUnion Direct at the time of installation.
Can I be registered with multiple company locations for access to TransUnion Direct?
You can be registered with any or all locations that your company may have. Once logged into TransUnion Direct, you can select a location and subscriber code from the dropdown menus. A list of services available under that subscriber code will display.
Can I avoid having to log back into TransUnion Direct when it times out?
The time-out feature of TransUnion Direct protects the security of our credit information. The time-out feature on TransUnion Direct is a standard 30 minutes and is not configurable, so you will need to log back into the site if your session should end due to inactivity. The 30-minute time-out requirement is consistent with the CDIA standards for the credit-reporting industry.
