Q: I bought my husband a set of golf clubs online with a credit card and was told that they should arrive in two weeks. It’s been four weeks and they’re not here yet but the merchant did charge my credit card for them. What should I do?
A: Some credit card issuers have policies against merchants charging a credit card account before shipment. If you think the merchant charged your account prematurely, report it to the credit card issuer and contact the merchant. Otherwise, the credit card issuer has no way to know that the merchant is not complying with its policies.
