As Mobile Sports Wagering Explodes, So Too Does Fraud

Gaming is one of the top three industries globally targeted for digital fraud attempts. A broad spectrum of illicit behavior, such as proxy betting, fraud rings, bonus abuse and synthetic identity fraud, plague operators.

Head of TransUnion’s US Gaming Declan Raines said the key is to establish relatively frictionless fraud prevention protocols like player and device authentication — but there’s also a tricky balance to strike between smooth onboarding and effective anti-fraud measures.
