Rep. Sean Casten Joins TransUnion Associates for Discussion on Affordability, Privacy and Innovation

In August, TransUnion associates welcomed Rep. Sean Casten, D-Ill., for a fireside chat on public policy issues affecting consumers, businesses and the financial services industry. TransUnion President and CEO Chris Cartwright introduced the Congressman before a conversation moderated by Chief Legal Officer Heather Russell. Together they explored housing affordability, data privacy, fraud prevention, artificial intelligence and the importance of bipartisan collaboration. 

Speaking to associates from the Chicagoland area, Rep. Casten shared perspectives from his work representing Illinois' 6th Congressional District and discussed how time spent meeting with constituents, community organizations and local businesses helps inform his work in Washington. He emphasized the value of hearing directly from the people and communities he serves and bringing those perspectives into the policymaking process.

The conversation explored how lawmakers, regulators and industry leaders can work together to strengthen consumer protections, combat fraud and establish clear standards that support both innovation and trust in the digital economy.
